2.22 The one with too many birthdays and the end of Gen2

And then the Roman said to the bartender, “If I had wanted two martini, I would have ordered two!” Hahaha!
Oh Willow, you’re such a blast! Your jokes are always intelligent and funny. I’m so glad I get to spend so much time with you. How convenient your college classes haven’t started yet, otherwise you surely would be too busy to hang around.
Oh believe me, I would always make time for you. Ever since I graduated from high school, I learned what it means to surround myself with other adults. All those childish teenagers back in school drove me crazy.
WILLOW! What do you think you’re doing out here on a regular school day? And what do you mean, ever since you graduated high school? Last time I checked, you still went here.
But lady, wherever you are, how can Willow still be in school when she is already 21? There’s something that doesn’t quite add up. Besides, where are you, anyway? I can hear your voice, but I can’t see you. That freaks me out.
What freaks ME out is that Willow has obviously been lying to you. She’s underage, and she is definitely still in school. And it doesn’t matter that you can’t see me, all that matters is that I can see you. I see all! And now, Willow, get back to school!
You can’t make me, you… party pooper!
That’s right, but I can make your dad call you home, and then you’re going to be in a lot of trouble for not attending classes. Your lovely acquaintance might want to go home now. There’s nothing to see here, move on – shoo!

Later that night Willow decided not to come home at all. Instead she hung out with whoever came her way until 4 a.m . Luckily she gained the “Rebellious” Trait when she became a teenager, otherwise she surely would have been caught by the police. And that would have raised a lot of questions, ones that I could not have answered.

When she snuck into bed, most of her family was already up again. It’s good for her that her younger siblings didn’t tell their parents. A lot of luck going on here, let me tell you! By now, it was around 5.30, and Willow headed straight for her bedroom. Young lady, you are SO not going to miss school today! I can’t drag you there, but believe me, I will stare at you without blinking until you get up.
Aaaah, shut up. Just let me get some sleep now, and I’ll be fine.

Surprisingly, her alarm went off two hours later. Her need for sleep had just been reduced to a level that was no longer red, but just yellow. Excellent. Hey, wasn’t there a science test you had to take today?
Let me tell you something about school, preferably while you fetch me some coffee. Black, no sugar or milk. Thanks. School doesn’t teach me anything I want to know, or anything I need to know. When I was a kid, I watched over dad’s shoulder while he did his scientific experiments and I saw how miraculous the world can be. Unfortunately, school won’t teach me that. I’m rebelling against the system of attending mind-numbing classes that are unnecessary and don’t prepare me for the real world. If I have to solve one more equation about a person buying 526 water melons and selling ¾ for twice the price, in order to find out the age of said person, I’m going to punch someone. Seriously. Now, where’s my coffee?
Willow, I think I have underestimated you. Sorry that I doubted your motives. Here’s your coffee, I added a cereal bar. Oh, and what’s that I’m seeing? A lifetime wish, just like your mother’s? Done.
Yeah, I’m going to be a Robot Cross-Breeder someday. That science career is mine.

But first it was time for Xander to grow up into a teenager. He had been very quiet lately, and I was worried he was afraid of aging up.

Oh, what a cute guy! He developed a rather interesting taste when it comes to clothes – I like it. Right now, I can’t remember his fourth trait, shame on me… But I’ll look it up and get back to you! To my defence, there was a lot going on that week. Four other birthdays were upon me, and we had to get through all of them. The last led to the official start of generation 3!

Alfie aged up into an adorable senior who continued to be hard on his daughter at least once a day, preferably in the evening. Although he had never learned about that school-skipping thing, he must have sensed that something was wrong.
Willow, for the love of god, will you ever consider wearing something green? My legacy here is almost over, which you can see from the fact that this is the first time I’m being mentioned in my own chapter, and you have to look good on those pictures. Just try something green. Anything. Please!
No, dad. Just no. I hate green, at least on my clothes, so I’m sticking with blue.
Young lady, you’re going to be the death of me. And of all fashion sense in the world.

Then it was Dawn’s time to age up into a teenager. I was quite pleased with her outer appearance, and I actually think she resembles her namesake a bit.

For some odd reason, her younger sister Tara had her birthday on the very same day, although they hadn’t been born twins. I’m not going to argue with the game, because I would lose. So let’s just say: congratulations to being a teenager, Tara! She developed an unusual fashion sense, which can be seen in her other outfits better than in this one, and I decided to have her stick around for a bit.

And then. The moment you have been waiting for. Willow was finally done being a teenie, and she entered the real world with a BANG, and a very loud one. Seriously, can you hear those tights screaming? We worked on this particular outfit for, I kid you not, over an hour. And another hour went by for the other outfits. Hearing her thoughts and her attitude impressed me so much that I decided she would get the attention she deserves.

And with a few giant pieces of cake, and people all dressed appropriately (that’s a first!), Alfie’s era ended. From now on he was on his own. I wanted to write a few sentimental words in the end, but he deserves to speak up himself.
*burps* Oh. I didn’t think I’d ever get a chance to say something, I wasn’t prepared. Wait, I don’t have a speech or anything! Um… creative thoughts… inspiring words… uh… Can I get back to you on that?

Sure, we’re distracted by your wife peeing yourself now, anyway. -5 *sighs* Here’s my suggestion. I’ll make a transition chapter, and you can include your speech then, alright?
Deal. So bye for now, dear readers! You’ve accompanied me through so much, and I love all of you.

Author's Notes: And that's it! Willow's birthday into adulthood marks the end of Generation 2. As promised, a transition/final tally chapter will follow soon, and hopefully Alfie is prepared by then. Stick around for an exciting and scientific Generation 3!
