2.3 Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer

The next morning started out the exact same way the previous had. Somehow, the fridge still wasn’t full of tasty leftovers, so I had to resort to my “cereal a la Alf”. Yeah, I know. Note to self: go shopping for food tonight, straight after work.

But when I left work in the afternoon, I saw Molly run off to the bus stop. She had mentioned earlier that she wanted to go to the gallery today, and I changed my plans very spontaneously. Food was overrated.

So I headed over to the gallery, where I hoped to find her. Unfortunately, she was nowhere to be seen. Now that was great. I had just thought of the perfect line to say to her, and she wasn’t here. Well, I had wanted to come back here for some of the paintings, anyway. Might as well take a look at them, maybe I would find some interesting pieces.
No, I didn’t. They were all crappy. I must have expressed my disapproval rather loudly, because I heard a few threats from around the room. But if you had a look at them, you would have agreed with me! Amhranai, it was like looking at the pictures you drew when you were still in school.
Thanks a lot. Childhood memories coming back now.
But it’s true! Those were the worst minutes of my life.

Now this is a very flattering picture of me, thank you.
That’s payback, honey. Besides, I think it’s really cute. I could watch you criticizing art all day <3
Really? *runs fingers through hair*

Anyway, moving on. Nobody seemed to be really impressed by the pictures hanging on the walls, everywhere I looked I saw bored faces. But since I was the only one to be honest about them, I was the only one being shushed. Life’s not fair sometimes.

All of a sudden, I was approached from the side. I immediately recognized her, and tried to breathe calmly. Not that easy when your heart rate is going up like crazy. She asked me whether I liked the picture I was examining at the moment, and I decided to be honest. The worst thing that could happen would be that she had painted it. And let’s face it: that was very unlikely. Oh God, what if she did? I would have to leave the country immediately.

I think she’s not the one who painted it, otherwise she would have slapped me in the face. Instead, she shook my hand and said that I was the first one here to say what I really think. All the others would have been very vague, despite this being obviously a crappy piece of  “art”. Note the quotation marks in my speech. That’s how bad it was.

We talked for hours, making fun of the other visitors, and also of the paintings. She never said anything really mean, though. I could tell she had a good heart.

At night, we left the gallery together and headed home.
You wish!
What? She went to her place, and I went to mine. You have pictures that prove it! And now stop interrupting my story every five minutes, I will lose the plot. :(

I just realized there was not much left to tell. The most exciting thing was watching deadly plants on TV, eating Sims after alluring them with cake. Hahaha, as if anybody ever fell for that.
Oh, look here, I have some cake!
What? Cake? Where? Gimme!
Yeah, you would never fall for that.

Author's notes: *does happy dance* I'm caught up :D I'll be out of town Monday-Thursday, which includes no internet, except on my cellphone to check my mails (bad reception there). I will write my papers, but also have a lot of time to play Sims! I can also write the first chapters, but won't be able to post them until Friday. So I'm glad that I got the last older pictures out now.
Plotwise: Molly seems like a cute girl, we might be looking into that more. ;) I want idiots again...!
(Reason for the chapter title: I just listened to this song while typing, and it fitted somehow.^^)

  1. I think the post title is perfect :).

Molly really is a cute sim. I am rooting for Alf.

And just general Alf love. I think this is some of the best character writing you've ever done. He makes me laugh all the time.

    1. I'm so glad you like Alf so much! :) It's fun to give him a voice, because he has so many stories to tell. And I'm already curious to see how his kids will turn out, if they inherit his "craziness".... :D

  2. Now I have that song stuck in my head! Thanks for that! You're right though, it fits well :)

Alf is adorable and I also can't wait for idiots. Therefore, I hope Molly is the "one".

    1. You're welcome :P

Molly really is a cute sim, even though her genetics are rather "boring". I have been downloading a couple of sims and will put them into the game. Let's see what happens. (But don't tell Alf, he seems to really like Molly ;) )
